Remember when you took art classes as a kid? If so, you probably remember finger painting. Flash forward to 2017 and now Fingerpainting is an actual college major. You heard right, finger painting has gone under the radar but is actually becoming a very popular method for artists worldwide. With no brush to interfere with the creative process, finger painting provides a unique advantage to artists who struggle with expressing themselves through acrylic, oil, or digital mediums.
By being in direct contact with the canvas, the fingers obtain a skill unlike any other. In addition, coating your hands with paint is said to make you more attractive, according to a recent survey. On top of that, a study by neuroscience students at Harvard University proved that finger painting can extend your lifespan by up to 10 years. Sounds cool, right? What’s even cooler is that finger painting is now being offered at North Broward! If you have an interest in this class, make sure to sign up for this unique opportunity. Mrs. Shelley Weiss will be incorporating finger painting into her IB curriculum, and showcasing several works in the annual IB Art Show. Don’t miss this opportunity!
Okay, actually, you’ll have to miss this opportunity, because…
April Fools! But feel free to finger paint in the comfort of your own kitchen.
